The day before yesterday we took a trip to the largest mountain in the local neighborhood. I only vaguely remember that place from years ago, when there was a lot of snow, and I really wanted to see it again.

The trip though Mount Washington was not without peril though: a Navigational Device Which Must Not Be Named gave us the most efficient route from home to Mount Washington. Though the Navigational Device Which Must Not Be Named was fairly certain in it's directions it unfortunately didn't know about the large gaps in the road on the last part of this route, which our car unfortunately could not handle. We were forced to take an alternative route, much to the distraught of our Navigational Device Which Must Not Be Named which kept reminding us to "turn back now" because what we were doing really wasn't efficient.

Somewhat later we arrived at the skiing resort. Almost no snow to be seen though! Only a few patches here and there up in the mountain. Luckily, during the summer all the skiing paths are converted into hiking and mountain biking trails. And a few of the skiing lifts are operational to take both people and bikes up to the top. As you can see in the images it was still quite cloudy and actually somewhat cold, so we decided to go back the next day. The next day we took the lift to the top. An absolutely beautiful sight! We ad-hocced a combination of trails together to form our route down the hill, which took us a few hours, and then we went back up again. This because we already paid for the lift, and we're Dutch, so why not go again. The second time though we also took the lift downwards so I could make some pictures from the surroundings, and from the bicyclists which were racing downward. Seems like an interesting thing to do! *adds to todo list*
